Technologies
Same Day Translations uses a wide variety of technologies, all suited perfectly to your specific language needs. Here are two of the most important:
Translation Memories
As defined on Wikipedia, a translation memory, or TM, is a database that stores so-called "segments", which can be sentences or sentence-like units (headings, titles or elements in a list), that have been previously translated. A translation-memory system stores the words, phrases and paragraphs that have already been translated and aid human translators. The translation memory stores the source text and its corresponding translation in language pairs called "translation units".
What are the specific benefits of a translation memory for you? Among other things, the two most important benefits for you are:
- Consistency - The use of translation memories ensures that all current and future translations are consistent in terms of both style and terminology. If professional translation (i.e., translation that portrays the professional nature of your company) is important to you, the use of translation memories goes without saying.
- Cost savings - Although it may seem unusual, copy (whether marketing, medical, educational, etc.) is used over and over. Translation memories ensure that you never pay for the same sentence twice.
When you place your first order, we will provide you with a detailed analysis of your project. You might be surprised how much repetition there is in your copy and how much you can save through the use of translation memories.
Content Management
We know how complex your projects and processes are. Depending on the number of languages you need, there could be anywhere from 2 to 50 linguists working on your project at anytime. Same Day Translations uses state-of-the-art processes to manage workflow in a collaborative environment.
