File exchange
Once the proposal is accepted, the Client will provide Same Day Translations with the document, software or media electronically.
Same Day Translations accepts electronic files through hard media (CDs, DVDs), email attachments, or an ftp site.
Need Translation of a Paper Document?
No problem. We also offer data entry services for taking a paper document and transitioning it to an electronic version. See our pricing matrix for approximate costs.
Proposal
Same Day Translations bids on proposed projects based on the following criteria:
- Language service(s) needed: Does the project require translation, full localization or high-volume transcription?
- Scope analysis: Does the project include just text? Do images need to be localized? The scope of the project is determined by analyzing the project scope and needed deliverables.
- Project proposal: Your proposal will also include file exchange, our analysis, a projected due date and a proposed change management process. "Rush" services for projects is available upon request.
- Per project vs. retainer: Same Day Translations will send you a per project proposal or set-up an ongoing retainer for continual services. Please specify on your request for proposal which type of arrangement works best for your organization.
Translation
All translations are performed by native speakers of the target language who are experienced in the industry and/or subject matter of the project. Our experienced translators transition from one language to the next, carefully preserving nuance and accuracy in your document, audio file or video.
Editing
All translations go through at least one translation and editing pass. Editors review both the source language and the target translation to verify correct meaning and assure proper spelling and grammar.
Proofreading
Proofreading is an optional (although highly recommended for professional resuts) next step in the Same Day Translations process, performed by a native speaker that reads the target language only for fluency and readability. The native proofreading step ensures that the translation reads and conveys meaning, as if it were originally written in the target language.
Target language and functional QA pass (for software only)
Quality assurance of physical and software products is performed by experienced software testers who are fluent in both the source and target languages. Same Day Translations testers are also native speakers of either the source or target language and experienced in the same industry or subject matter of the product concerned.
